Rules and Regulations for the Great Bend NBC Points tournaments in April and June

General: We will follow NBC baseball rules for each age division. Two pool play games will lead into a single elimination tournament unless otherwise specified due to registrations and/or weather. All age divisions will be separate unless registration dictates otherwise. If 13 and 14's are combined, they will play by 14U rules.

Umpires: Each game will have two umpires.

These are NBC points tournaments. Teams do NOT need to be NBC registered to participate in tournaments. However, each team MUST carry liability insurance. We are not responsible for accidents.

Each team must provide 2 balls per game. They will be returned at completion of game.

Time Limits: 9U-12U play six inning games with a 1.5 hour time limit and no new innings after 1 hour 25 min. 13U-14U play seven inning games with a 1.75 hour time limit and no new innings after 1 hour 40 min. Time limits will be used   in all games but the championship game in bracket play. Ties will count in pool play only. Umpires will limit warm up pitches and time between innings. Umpires will announce last inning and will be the last inning even if 1 minute remains on the time.

Team Composition: A team is limitted to 17 players and 3 coaches. Only rostered coaches and players are allowed in the dugout and game. Rosters must be submitted prior to beginning of tournament.

Dugouts: Only coaches and players are allowed in dugouts for insurance purposes.

7 inning games: no more than 7 innings in two consecutive games. One pitch counts as a complete inning.

  • PENALTY: Interference, the ball is dead, the runner is out, and other runners return to the base occupied at the time of the interference. If in the umpire's judgment, the interference prevented a double play, the umpire will award the second out.

Cleats: Metal cleats are NOT allowed for 12U divisions. Failure to comply will result in removal from the game. Metal cleats are not allowed on the portable mounds. Pitchers must wear tennis shoes or rubber cleats.

9 and 10U Divisions will have a 5 run per inning maximum with continuous runs counting. The umpires will announce the final inning in which runs are unlimitted.

Tournament Style: Each tournament will include 2 pool play games into a single elimination tournament unless numbers and/or weather dictate otherwise. Straight pool play may be use.  Team and individual prizes are awarded for 1st and 2nd place.
